• I have purchased three copies of this book and here's why I am an amateur letterer / chalkboard artist that is (mostly) self-taught, aside from a few pdf worksheets I downloaded off of Etsy or whatever. I follow a TON of lettering accounts on Instagram to try and learn new methods / styles, and Brenna's style has always been one of my absolute favorites!! So when she announced she'd be releasing a book this past January, I couldn't slam the pre-order button fast enough. After 3 eager months of waiting, it arrived!! I was immediately hooked. The worksheets are so fun and easy to use, and they're perfectly intermixed with her writing blurbs and instructions - great book for people that want to learn from step 1, or just go straight to the practice sheets!
  
  Then my dog chewed up my copy after I got about halfway through so I got wine drunk and cried to my boyfriend about how I "didn't have anything fun to do anymore" (he really appreciated that). I had to order another copy (I was thinking about doing so ANYWAY, because I was loving it so much that I wanted to start from scratch!) and honestly, we don't deserve this price. The book is so well-made, the paper, binding, and hardcover so beautiful and durable (except for puppy teeth but that's an outlier), the content so wonderful and enjoyable, that this thing is an absolute STEAL and a MUST for anyone that enjoys handwriting, whether you want to practice lettering as a craft or if you just want to write prettier. I've always loved working on my handwriting and have done so practically since I could write, but this book has improved it even more than I thought possible!!
  
  So I ordered another copy and then I thought, my best friend's birthday is coming up! Bingo, present in the bag. She loves it too! She's not a lettering hobbyist like me, but has always been similar to me in loving to craft her personal handwriting into the best it can be.
  
  Honestly I think everyone should have a copy of this book. It's so relaxing to use and has relevance for everyone - from the chicken-scratch guy that just wants to make their writing legible to the avid lettering guru that wants to learn new styles and tricks. I have bought three copies so far and I will probably buy more as I finish my current one. THANK YOU BRENNA!!!
• I am very pleased I purchased this book. For an individual who is relatively new to calligraphy the book gives additional information and ideas which can transfer over into shaded calligraphy. The book has a nice section on flourishing also which has been very helpful in my on going development. In addition, it has a section on writing Roman Capitals. There are several projects and exercises included in the book as well . I highly recommend the purchase of this book
• It’s a fantastic book and perfect for anyone whose new to lettering or calligraphy or anyone who just wants to improve their everyday handwriting! I also recommend getting some tracing paper so you don’t have to write directly in the book.

  I highly recommend Brenna Jordan's book, The Lost Art of Handwriting. I feel like my handwriting has always been lost and Brenna's beautiful examples and prompts have already helped immensely. The book is filled with tips, tricks, and gorgeously rendered, heartfelt quotes to inspire even the laziest hand. The exercises progress in a well thought out manner making it easy to continue improving your penmanship one step at a time. There is even a section on combining printed letters with cursive letters, which I found surprising and useful. This book is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their handwriting.
• I've been following Brenna for almost a year on Instagram now so I'm very happy that she finally has her book released! The hardcover was very pretty and the pages are smooth. As I read it it's like I'm unlocking her secrets on how to write in Spencerian fonts! I really love it.

• I have practiced hand lettering/calligraphy for over 3 years now and in that span, have bought many different books regarding technique, practice, and fonts. This book, by far, is my most favorite. Brenna lays it out - from the basics, to proper spacing (techniques to help you space your own letters better), to flourishing. Love all the tips and tricks to keep yourself in check as well as the space to practice and follow along. I've already seen a significant improvement to my daily practices and rough drafts for upcoming projects. THANK YOU BRENNA!
