- Love this book! Its an easy read and filled with practical ideas and suggestions to teach your girl to be her own person and know that she matters in this world no matter who she is. The coaching exercises were fun for my daughter (and me) to learn about herself and help her to make her own decisions. I imagine I will come back to this book again in the future as she matures. In fact I think much of the content could apply to non-girls too. Empowering, uplifting... I’m glad I came across this one.
- As an elementary school counselor and developmental guidance teacher, I purchased this book hoping to gain ideas and insights to share with my students and their parents. Girl on Purpose delivered in a format that was easy to follow, clear and practical! Danielle Fulgini McKay provides confidence-building activities or "coaching exercises" for girls of all ages. I have begun incorporating many of these exercises in the groups I facilitate, and the girls are learning a lot about themselves and each other through them. The exercises prompt self-awareness and spark thoughtful conversations. Each chapter in the book offers clear areas of growth to introduce and teach, as well as the author's personal reflections related to them. This is a relevant read for anyone seeking to guide girls toward discovering their truth, authenticity and success! It's a great resource, and I'm recommending it to parents and teachers in my community!
- Girl on purpose was wonderfully enlightening! It is a tool that I wish someone would have shared with me earlier on in my career. I personally enjoyed engaging in the “coaching exercises†and the “coaching moments†served as excellent advice. Very practical read. I highly recommend it.
- This is a refreshing, personal, easy-to-read "guide" on building confidence and a sense of self. While directed toward people raising girls, I got a lot out of it for my boys and myself as well. The author draws from others' work as well as her own experience to create a great little resource. Well worth a read!
- I'm a retired educator that has taught in public schools for 37 years, 14 of those years at the elementary school level. I happened on Girls on Purpose recently and was impressed by it's focus on helping young girls deal with self-esteem issues. This book would be helpful to parents. If I was a principal of an elementary school, I would require my 5th and 6th grade teachers to read this important work.
- How to help you and your girl build self confidence...this book will give you the resources you need. It’s full of real life coaching examples. It also has hands on self confidence building activities you can do yourself or with your girl.

- This book really hit home for me as a teacher. I just completed a year with a lot of "girl drama". I wish I had this resource to use this past year. So many ideas to use as teachable moments. I see now that even the girls who presented as "mean girls" just lacked self confidence. This is a resource that I will use with my class, as well as, my family. Great quick read that I will reread many times in the future!
